Spring is in the air! Let’s kick off this Spring quarter by learning about how to maintain healthy relationships during this pandemic! Come chat and socialize with the Emotional Wellbeing Team, Sexual & Relationship Health Team, and Active Minds from the Center for Student Wellness and Health Promotion as we hold a workshop filled with interactive activities to gain knowledge regarding the intersection between mental health and our relationships. We know how difficult this pandemic has been and we want to offer you a safe space to discuss your challenges with how it has affected the way you interact with others. We hope you’ll join us!

UCI is fortunate to have substantial open space, a feature that distinguishes the institution from most other major research universities. This presents a generational opportunity – how do we want to present ourselves, physically, to the world? To address this, we have redefined the concept of “outdoors” here at UCI, calling it our Naturescape, where institutionally, we can leverage that potential in ways that contribute to our core values. One of those core values is to embed health and wellbeing into all aspects of campus culture, emphasizing the interconnectedness between individuals and their environments.
Please join us for an informative session to learn more about current and upcoming campus initiatives helping to create a more holistic and health-promoting built environment. We will be joined by a panel of speakers who will provide insight on the vision and design concepts of Naturescape and its alignment with current wellbeing campus initiatives, including adoption efforts for the Okanagan Charter.
Speakers:
UCI Nature
Matt Deines – Senior Planner, Campus Physical and Environmental Planning
Doug Everhart – Director, Student Wellness & Health Promotion
Date: Wednesday, April 21
Time: 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M.

Lab grown meat derived from plant matter?! Sounds like Science Fiction, but really it’s the newest trend in the culinary world. Join us for a quick half hour session and learn all about plant-based alternative meats from our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
Join the Wellness Initiative in Social Ecology (WISE) Peers as they host their weekly WISE Wednesday, where they create a space outside of the classroom space allowing the UCI community to have a space to chat about mental health/wellness with our guest speakers.
This week’s special guests are our very own Doug Everhart (Director) and Beth England Mackie (Assistant Director) who will be giving an overview of our department and it’s resources. We hope you can join us and learn more about our department!
WISE (@uciwisepac) aims to improve and expand upon mental/behavioral health and wellness programming services for Social Ecology students while complimenting ongoing campus efforts. We plan to address gaps in current existing resources available to students, including avenues that may be indirectly related to mental health and well-being.
